As always the show opens up with the crowd chanting NXT. The first match was scheduled for one fall, with the participants being "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze taking on Adam Rose. The two opponents make their way to the ring and as Rose makes his way to the ring he starts to talk about how he's going to poop on the NXT universes party. Now just to clarify Rose had a party animal gimmick a while back, and now he's going through a gimmick change where he no longer wants to party because everyone took him as a joke. Once both participants are in the ring Bull Dempsey interrupts the match before it can begin. He then makes his way to the ring and challenges Breeze to match after what Breeze had done to Dempsey the following week (Breeze beat up Dempsey after their loss to Gargano and Ciampa). Adam rose then tells Dempsey to back down and then eventually slaps him. This doesn't sit well with Dempsey as he then beats down Rose and throws him out of the ring, leaving Dempsey alone inside the ring with Breeze. Dempsey almost gets his hands on Breeze but Prince Pretty quickly leaves the ring. Dempsey is then yelling for a one-on-one match, which was announced that he will be getting next week on the September 23rd edition of NXT.
Our next match features "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger facing off against Danny Burch. This match is to get Dillinger back on the right track, and start winning matches again. Dillinger has been around NXT for quite sometime now and he has finally accepted what he really is, a perfect ten. Dillinger showed off why he calls himself such by showing off his wrestling ability and agility. Then to end the match he removed his kneepad and drove it to the temple of Burch. Dillinger was just someone who could put on a great match with anyone, until he found this gimmick. It seems like we will be seeing a lot more of "The Perfect Ten," in the weeks to come.
In our third match we will see Apollo Crews taking on a formidable opponent in Solomon Crow. This would be the first real test for Crews as he has been facing off against people who aren't highly ranked in NXT. Solomon Crow has a great in ring presence with an offence that will make you want to see more. The match starts off with the two shaking hands. As they go through tie ups it would end with Crews coming out on top. Crews then lets crow on his feet and tries to go for another hand shake, this time Crow kicks his hand away as he seemed to be getting a little frustrated. Crews was just too agile and strong for Crow to handle, so he decided to pull a little underhanded move when he trapped Crews under the ring apron and dishing out heavy blows to the vulnerable Crews. Crow then slowed the pace down by getting Crews into a sleeper hold. This eventually backfired as Crews reversed with a Jawbreaker and picked up momentum to finish Crow with his Gorilla Press Standing Moonsault combination earning the three count and winning the match. This was a fun match to watch because it was the first time since his debut that he was up against a formidable opponent. It was a fun match to watch and was especially good because we're seeing a little bit of a heel turn coming from Solomon Crow. I think this could help crow as he has been something of an after thought since his debut. He is an amazing worker, but so far has not been used to often. I hope this match will give us a Crow/Crews rivalry, but only time will tell.
The match to follow is a second round tag match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic between Baron Corbin & Rhyno going up against Gargano and Ciampa. Gargano and Ciampa started the match on a high note by taking it too the two larger competitors. With their fast pace they were able to get the upper hand landing some devastating blows and a couple of dives to the outside, getting the NXT crowd hyped up. This ended though as Corbin stopped Ciampa in his tracks with a massive body slam. Corbin slowed down the pace keeping Ciampa away from his corner. This worked for some time, until Ciampa finally got free and was able to make a tag to his partner. Gargano wasted little time as he dove into the ring and hit Corbin with an over the top rope tornado ddt. It seemed as though Gargano and Ciampa would come out victorious but Corbin had other plans as he landed the end of days on Gargano and won the match for him and his partner. Corbin and Rhyno are now in the semifinals in the tournament, is there anyone who can stop their momentum?
The Final match of the night was a homecoming event, as Bayley (the newly crowned NXT women's champion) made her way to the ring. She was facing off against newcomer Sarah Dobson, who was looking to make a name for herself by taking on the new champion. Sarah wasted no time and went on the offence getting the better of Bayley, but the champ wasn't going to lose so easily. She quickly turned things around and showed Dobson exactly why she is champ. Bayley then did her finisher the belly-to-bayley and won the match in outstanding fashion. She then did a victory lap around the ring and even got one of her fans to join her. All seemed good until "The Boss" Sasha Banks came out to ruin the party. Sasha was telling Bayley how their match for the title was the best match of the night and NXT Takeover Brooklyn. She went on to say the Bayley was only better then her for 3 seconds and that she wanted to beat Bayley, but not just once. She wanted to beat Bayley over and over again. Bayley was ready for the fight then and there until General manager William Regal made his way to the stage and announced that at NXT Takeover Respect, Sasha Banks would get her rematch for the NXT Womens Title in the first ever 30 minute iron woman match. Not only that, but the two women would be the main event. This is monumental in that there has never been a women's match main event any big event such as this. This is a big step forward for women's wrestling in the WWE and I personally am super stoked about it. NXT Takeover Respect will happen October 7. Mark your calendars because this one you won't want to miss.

NXT 09/09/15
This week in NXT we saw the continuation of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and many more matches that show off the superstars and divas in ring technique. So without wasting any more of your time and patience we'll get started on this weeks review of NXT.
The first match up is "The princess of Staten Island" Carmella vs. Peyton Royce. This match up was a back and forth showing for both women wrestlers. You can also say it was the first time we see Peyton Royce enter the ring with an actual entrance. Now of course she's always had an entrance, but when your watching WWE you can tell how important the wrestler is if they show you the entrance or not. Usually they won't show an entrance of a jobber, which has been the case for Royce in the past. Now throughout the match you could see how different the styles of both women were. Carmella, being a jersey girl gimmick, has obviously been a dancer in one point of her life as she is always dancing around the ring, but once Royce starts to wrestle you can see that he wrestling technique, although good, not quite there with Royce. Royce shows great in ring technique as she takes on Carmella, the match is back and forth with each women trading headlocks. The match seems to be in Royce is favor as she starts taking control, but then Carmella locks in her finisher move, the inverted headscissors, and wins the match by submission. The match was ok, but it really showed off Peyton Royce who looks to have a bright future ahead of her. Its rare you see many girls come into WWE who have great in ring work, so this makes me happy to see as I am done with the pretty girls who can't wrestle to save their lives.
Second match of the night is another round 1 tag team classic match. The contestants of the match are the newly formed team of "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze and Bull Dempsey taking on the tag team of Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa. The match gets started with Dempsey trying to mimic his partner as he lays on the top rope. Breeze, who thinks that Dempsey is an "ugo," shows great frustration with Dempsey trying to mimic him. Then before the match starts Breeze insists on starting off the match and orders Dempsey to get in the corner. The match begins and Breeze isn't doing so well agains Ciampa. They tie up and Ciampa gets the upper hand, sending Breeze to his corner who then tags in Dempsey to take on Ciampa. Breeze looks like he wants no part of this match. Dempsey makes quick work of Ciampa and holds him down with an armlock. Breeze then orders Dempsey to tag him in. Once in the match Breeze starts to beat up Ciampa who has already been injured by Dempsey. The match goes on like this for a while until Dempsey, who was running to the ropes, accidentally knocks Breeze off. Leaving him open for a quick tag move by the challengers who then pick up the win. Ciampa and Gargano then celebrate in the ring as Dempsey lay there after his lose. Breeze gets into the ring and doesn't look to happy. As Dempsey gets on his knees Breeze then shoots out a nasty super kick to Dempseys temple. Breeze then goes on the attack and leaves the arena with Dempsey incapacitated. This is the start of a new rivalry for Dempsey and Breeze and I believe the two styles will mesh well. I can't wait to see how this one plays off in the weeks to come.
The third match of the night was a divas match. The contestants were Billie Kay vs. "The Total Diva" Dana Brooke. Billy Kay is in the same boat as Peyton Royce. She's a familiar face that I've seen as I watch NXT. She was once a jobber but now they are marketing both divas as new up and comers. This match was back and forth both divas dishing out all they had and leaving nothing in the ring. But Kay would not see the win as she was given a Death Valley Bomb for the 1, 2, 3 and lost to Dana Brooke. Now this review was short because I really want to talk about Dana Brooke. Brooke is a body builder who, still to this day, competes in competitions. She looked intimidating, she looked beautiful and she looked like she had a lot of promise, but boy was I wrong. Once she debuted all my hopes and dreams for her fell flat. She was so green in the ring it was cringe worthy, and I automatically hated her from then on out. Then she teamed up with Emma, who is an amazing wrestler, and she started to improve. Now she's alone and only has herself to back her up. And in this match against Billie Kay she showed that she has indeed improved. She's not an amazing wrestler yet, but there is hope for her. I am very much excited to see her live up to the title, "The Total Diva."
FINALLY ITS TIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! The main event for this card will be another first round match to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The participants were Fin Balor and Samoa Joe taking on the former NXT tag team champions Sin Cara & Calisto "The Lucha Dragons." The match started off with Balor taking control of the match. Then Balor and Samoa Joe clean house by knocking both members of The Lucha Dragons outside of the ring, then they head to commercial. Once back it shows that Balor has lost most his momentum from the beginning of the match and Sin Cara now has the upper hand. Sin Cara and Calisto both tag in and out trying to wear the NXT champion down so they can score the win. Finally Balor gets himself enough time to then get Joe in with the hot tag. Joe then goes in like a bat out of hell and demolishes his opponents. The match ends with Joe delivering the muscle buster and tagging in Balor who delivers his finisher Coup de Grace (a jump off the top turnbuckle and landing on his opponent with both feet like a stomp). The match was fun and exciting but of course it would be with The Lucha Dragons as they always bring excitement with their fast paced style. Fin Balor and Samoa Joe are now headed to round 2 of the tag team classic, but their teaming up only makes me suspicious as to what this will lead to. Will Joe turn on Balor and attack him, declaring himself number one contender for Balors NXT title? Or will Balor and Joe win the tournament and decide to face off against each other as respected opponents? The possibilities are endless as is the WWE. Stories may end but the adventure always continues. Until next time. PEACE!

NXT 09/02/15
WWE is a sport that's filled with loads of entertainment. Hence the term sports entertainment. WWE has many different characters just like any other show like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad. They are filled with characters of all shapes and sizes for you, the audience, to follow and connect with. Now WWE has this new product ,that they show on their on-demand streaming network called the WWE Network, called NXT. This product is filled with the best of their developmental group of superstars. NXT is a proving ground for wrestlers to make it to the main roster of Raw, the flagship show of the WWE. In this blog I will be discussing what is going on during their weekly broadcasting and give my reviews
The show opens with the crowd chanting N-X-T, N-X-T, N-X-T. All the fans are on their feet as the two teams to start The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic make their way to the ring. Now The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is a new tag team tournament in the honor of the late great Dusty Rhodes; a legend in the wrestling business and is well known for his promos. Specifically his, "hard times," promo you can see at this link https://youtu.be/9py4aMK3aIU. Now the two teams that will start off this tournament are The Ascension, Viktor and Conner, and the tag team of Baron Corban and Rhyno. The Ascension are former tag team champions who are these two big post apocalyptic, mad max style of wrestlers who are looking to get an easy win on the newly formed tag team of Baron Corban and Rhyno, Corbin is a tall wrestler who is use to working alone as is his counterpart Rhyno, Both men are looking to make a name for their newly formed team by taking the former tag team champions out of the tournament. The match starts off with two people in the ring and two people on the apron, a tag team in opposite corners. Rhyno and Viktor start the match, but Viktor quickly tags in Conner who starts to get the upper hand on Rhyno. The match goes on with some bumps along the way but no big spots. The finish has Rhyno dead center in the ring Conner and Viktor on opposite corners ready to give Rhyno their tag finisher called the wasteland, which a simultaneous leg chop and close-line. However, before Rhyno got into the cross hairs of the finisher Baron Corban pulls Viktor out of the ring which give Rhyno enough time to dodge the attack by Conner. After dodging the move Rhyno bounces off the ropes and delivers his own finisher, The Gore! Which is a powerful spear by the "man beast," Rhyno who then pins Conner for the win. The match was an alright match, the chemistry that Baron Corban and Rhyno had, wasn't quite there yet, but should get better as time progresses. This win over the former tag team champions was huge for them, showing that they are a force to be reckoned with in this tag team tournament.
The next match on the card is a singles women match, one on one. The two divas in the match are Alexa Bliss and Blue Pants (yes that's right her name is blue pants). This match is a continuation of a story between two tag teams Blake & Murphy and The Vaudevillians (Aiden English and Simon Gotch). Alexa Bliss is the manager of Blake & Murphy and she feels that Blue Pants cost her "boys," their tag team championship belts by showing up to help The Vaudevillians even up the numbers game that was being played by Alexa, Blake & Murphy. Who were up until that point bullying The Vaudevillians by having Alexa slap both English and Gotch, knowing that they could do nothing about it, Alexa felt that blue pants should have stayed out of this fight and came out in the opening bell of the match swinging and blue pants. She then proceeded to attach blue pants arm for the bulk of the match. The match went on like that for the remainder of it and it ended with Alexa hitting her Bliss Flip finishing move. The bliss flip is a 180 front flip from the top turnbuckle (the top rope of the corner). The match was an alright match, it wasn't anything special but just a continuation of the story between the two tag teams. this story line will without a doubt be continuing in the weeks to come,
The next match is a Showcase match. A showcase match is when they put a new superstar they want to showoff against a, "jobber." A jobber being a person who helps make his opponent look better by making each one of this showcasing superstars moves look that much more powerful. In other words, he's there to help him look good. The new superstar in this match is Apollo Crews, a very strong, athletic and agile young star, who has the looks and the skills to make it very far in this industry. Crews, during the match, shows off his great technical wrestling skills by reversing every hold his opponent is trying to get him in. Then he shows off his agility by doing some skull reaching dropkicks and a couple of flips. The match is short and ends with Crews doing his gorilla press slam then following up with his back-flip moonsault, which is done to a downed opponent on his back. The match was what it was, just a platform for Crews to look amazing, which he did. This match is just making me get excited to see Crews in a 15 to 20 minute match, and watch him and his opponent to be tare down the house.
Its Main Event time and this is the second match of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The two teams fighting in this match-up are, former NXT champion Adrian Nevile with his partner Solomon Crowe. Verses the team of Jason Jordan and Chad Gable ( who are ready, willing.... and gable) they are honestly my favorite team in NXT right now. But anyways back to the match. The match starts off with Gable and Crowe. Who start off the match by reversing hold on one another till a stalemate. Then all goes south for Crowe who gets taken down finally giving Gable the chance to take control of the match. The match is one sided as Jordan and Gable tag each other in and out, both getting a turn to deal some damage to Crowe. Finally Crowe gives himself an opening and delivers the hot tag to Nevile, who then goes into the ring and starts delivering payback to his opponents. Nevile does some amazing moves including a moonsault to the outside onto Jason Jordan. The match is exciting and goes into a back and forth motion till finally Jordan and Gable deliver their finishing move, which is a throwing backdrop. Jason will start the back drop only to let go of his opponent for Gable to jump in the air, grab onto his opponent, and bring them down with his own body weight. Helping them successfully advance in the tournament. The match was phenomenal and really gave Jordan and Gable a big push going forward as they knocked off the former NXT champions team. This is important because it makes them look strong going forward.
The show was good and i'd give it a C+ rating. Most the matches were good and were what they were except of course the main event. Which stood out to be match of the night, none of the performers leaving nothing in the ring and bringing all that they had. Each story is progressing and this is only the start of things to come.
